When Susan does not approve of my doings, really disapproves, she becomes quiet. I can put up with that awhile, but the explosion will come.
A blog is a dialogue. All blog, no comment, is a monologue. I’ve put three of them out there, and the silence is deafening. No comment. I periodically reassure myself by noting that most others in the “Men's Room” aren’t receiving comments either, but know the misfortune of others to be scant comfort.
Face to face, an explosion requires a reaction. As large, and loud, and persistent as I am, I’ll get a reaction. But that doesn’t explain what happens. Of course, the truth is, she wants the explosion. It proves “WE” matter. As of now there is no “WE” to “Changing the Sheets” — it’s just me. I can have scant hope from an explosion. It would be a tree falling silently in a forest without ears.
I’m not sure whether I want to know whether anyone is reading. Cathy Hamilton (the boss) has been reassuring, she says people are reading, just not commenting. She suggests she may be able to track hits on particular blogs. But I suspect the cruelest cut would be many readers and no reaction. Anyway, the truth is that I’m losing interest. This is supposed to be a site focused on the interests of middle age women. Maybe we simply aren’t interested in the same things. In any event, I’ve begun to write my death poem, which words will fall from faltering lips in a failed blogger’s farewell.

Good idea to write this because it prompted me to overcome the technical glitches I have been having so that I can finally log on. I have been reading all along and have especially enjoyed reading a man's perspective. Check your earlier postings for some comments I made today. Keep writing! - Marcia Mc

Methinks this man is too high-maintenance for his own good. Losing interest after three blogs? Because he doesn't get feedback from what i understand is a brand-new website for middle age women? Poor Susan. (Where IS Susan? Why isn't she commenting?)
