Cindy E. Penzler, MD, graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School in 1985. She completed her residency in ophthalmology in 1989. With over 20 years of experience specializing in medical and surgical care of the eyes, Cindy maintains a private practice in Topeka, Kan., at the Tallgrass Surgical Center, as well as a satellite office in Junction City, Kan., at Geary Community Hospital. She serves as a board member of the Kansas Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and the Physicians Advisory Board for Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Professional memberships include: Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Fellow of the American Board of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Kansas Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and the Kansas Medical Society.
Cindy volunteers for the Kansas University Audio Reader Network, the Lawrence Friends of the Library, and has been performing clinical research over the past eight years.
The mother of two daughters at the University of Kansas, Cindy has been married for 22 years. She enjoys reading, cooking, knitting, traveling, and is a devoted KU football and basketball fan.
