Janene started her career as an RN in labor and delivery for 10 years, and then worked in home health and medical hospital settings. In the late 1980s she decided to make a major career change, obtaining an MBA so she could follow in the footsteps of both her grandmothers who were successful entrepreneurs.
The idea of starting Wise Passage emerged from Janene’s frustrating five-year search for solutions for her own menopause-related symptoms and the negative attitude in the American culture toward the menopause transition.
Janene’s passion is for women’s health and wellness through a holistic, integrated approach provided by Nurse Practitioner Consultants who specialize in midlife women’s health. They provide advice for customized symptom relief in phone consultations through the virtual, national company of Wise Passage based at www.wisepassage.com.
Janene has written "The Wise Passage Menopause Guide," which offers a comprehensive, outline format resource to navigate menopause-related symptoms with ease: from the real truth about hormone therapy to symptom treatment and the mind-body connection.
Janene is committed to helping midlife women come into their own power and wisdom. In her book, she states, “This is a critical time for attending to our dreams, creativity and passions since we have increased freedom and on average one-third of our lives left to live. There is a lot of time remaining for us to fulfill our purpose in life and leave a valuable legacy.”
She has three wonderful adult daughters, and has been married for 37 years to a delightful man who is a psychotherapist and business leadership consultant.
