Jasmine and the summer moon

To take what we are given with grace

“I sit beside the river as silvery moonbeams spotlight my existence. In the reflection, I appear as a night-blooming flower. It is there, I can release my tears into the waters of transformation. I learn about my fears, embracing how I don’t have to be afraid anymore. I now can explore and be who I am. I can love. I can play. I can flow in the river of my own emotions free of pain. My imagination is without limits. In the night air, I smell the sweet scent of Jasmine.”

Right now, the lunar influence and the reflection of Venus are very strong. Change is feeling bittersweet. Mother Earth and Father Sky bring the love, and in the reflection of Venus, one can view the world like lovers do. How could anyone not want that?

This became very clear to me upon a recent return from Santa Fe, and the enchanted New Mexico landscape, which I love so much! Unquestionably, the high desert at sunset is magic. One evening, the scent of jasmine and the summer moon felt connected to my soul in a way I needed to experience. The warm satisfying fragrance came through the colors absorbed in the clouds. The earth and sky seemed to emit an ancient emotional wisdom that smelled to me like the sweetness of jasmine, juniper, lavender and sage. Hues of periwinkle blues and earthy greens imbued the creative connection, and a peaceful and centered passion prevailed when the colors turned to melon-glow pink. Needless to say, it was good.

Oooooh, for you aromatherapy enthusiasts out there, try this combination of essential oils and see how your feelings might soar into new levels of emotional freedom! Relax and let the plant spirit elementals do what they were born to do.

I had the privilege of witnessing a true master photographer at work and all the feelings, too, that go along with an experience like that. He waited and watched for the subtle and gentle change to come like a casting over the vast sky. Something involving pure devotion, tender loving care and patience for Mother Nature, as She painted the sky and mountain tops with the colors of the settling light. Or, was the patience necessary for us to experience, as something of our own? Nonetheless, subtle inklings of energy guided the way. It was outrageously beautiful and completely surreal — literally, in a place where very few people have been before. It was a moment out of time, you feel grateful to be a part of.

I think instinctually those who believe in universal life force and the dharma of experience are naturally affected and inspired by summertime’s energy for passion, spirit, play and rest. The interplay and our human desire to connect can inspire you to make magic with someone you love. Strength and compassion carry one another like true companions of the summer’s day and night. And, with no less verve, lingering in the ethers is the sense for us to take what we are given with grace. We must take heart and understand everything is in divine order, as it should be.

Jasmine is a plant spirit that speaks directly to this, drawing to one another the physical and spiritual levels into harmony and grace. Jasmine has the ability to unite opposites or break illusions by identifying an experience for what it is. This essence not only creates heightened awareness, but also in the process, unites love and sexuality to create the energy, or provide the path for sacred love. This profoundly feminine oil revels in the experience of the divine masculine like a moonflower that receives the life of sunlight.

Jasmine is one those perfected flowers that easily is, creatively intoxicating and divinely familiar, something to turn madness into imagination without limits. You can’t help but feel uplifted by this heady and magical aroma from the moment the fragrance hits the passage through the nose. Therapeutically, it eases and balances depression and encourages optimism. The white star bloom promotes confidence and puts you on the path of trusting "you are in the right place at the right time" — no matter what!

The truth is, we’ll never know what it looks like when the sun goes down, when the moon and the stars begin to shine — because patterns, timing, shadow and light change. There are no guarantees in life, so take what you are given with grace. Give blessings and anoint with magical jasmine. Take the sweet surrender and trust you’re right where you need to be.

Love & peace, Terre
