Not so gr-r-r-eat!

Take this with a grain of sea salt because I've been on the no-sugar bandwagon for months (especially since my diabetic dad died in March). But when I read the news of the record-breaking Olympic champion signing with Kellogg's to promote Frosted Flakes... well, it made me want to cry in my unsweetened green tea.

Michael, Michael, Michael. Don't you know there's a childhood obesity epidemic going on? Not everyone can put away 12,000 calories a day and work it off in the pool, buddy. The last thing your adoring young fans need is to go into sugar overload before trotting off to school.

Let's think about what we're throwing our weight behind. OK, champ?

Thanks for listening. Say 'hi' to your mom.
