One show closes; another readies for the stage

I'll admit, I was suffering from "Olympics Overkill" there at the end, but the Chinese staged a brilliant finale last night and I loved every minute of the high-tech pageantry. Applause to the host nation. And sign me up for tickets to London in 2012!

Now, it's convention season (finally) and Denver, Colorado, takes center stage. This story on Examiner.com suggests BoomerGirls might be the "deciders" in November. There isn't a lot of Olympic-style drama in political conventions these days, but it will be fascinating to watch which way boomer women (Hillary supporters) will swing this week.

I'll be watching. Will you?

I will watch. I'm a lifelong DEmocrate and Hilary supporter who was -- and still am -sorely dissapointed. But party unity is the most important thing right now and I'm praying we can come together.
