Get cash for your cast-offs and be 'green'

This great tip just in from Ronna, our blogging pal in Costa Rica - a Web site that pays you cash for your old gadgets or, at least, recycles them responsibly!

I don't know about you, but I have a few personal electronic items taking up valuable space in my junk drawers. That's why I was so delighted to discover Gazelle.com This demo video shows you how it works, but here's the gist:

Gazelle will buy your previously-used cellphones, MP3 players, digital cameras, laptops, GPS devices, gaming consoles, camcorders, satellite radios and portable hard drives - provided they still have market value - and, after a simple online registration process, send you a check in the mail. (You'll even have the option of donating your money to charity.) If the item is worthless, the company promises to recycle or dispose of it in an environmentally-friendly manner.

What's more, they'll even send you a postage-paid box for shipping.

I'm going to give Gazelle a try this weekend and see if I can unload an old Dell laptop computer. I'll let you know how it goes.
