The great debate: Who won?

The much anticipated and ballyhooed vice-presidential debate is finally over. You've slept on it. Now, weigh in.

Was there a clear winner?

Did Gov. Palin win simply by not freezing up?

Was Sen. Biden's constant spewing of numbers effective?

In the end, will it change anyone's mind?

What say you?

I don't think anyone won. She did a good job (could have done without the winking) and he was probably a bit too cordial. My mind's made up. I don't know about the undecideds. I doubt this made a huge difference.

I doubt it changed the minds of anyone who'd already decided, but Biden was superior. Palin clearly wasn't comfortable with anything but her talking points and probably had been told in no uncertain terms not to stray off on her own. Biden showed he had a much stronger grasp of the issues.

And I got tired of her "shucky darn" language, especially in conjunction with her willingness to stare down Putin and Russia. How's that going to work? Why can't we have a woman candidate who talks like an adult? I miss Hillary.

She has a snarky streak that she can't seem to keep down. When Biden choked up recalling how he lost his wife and children in that car accident, she had an opportunity to show America she had a heart. Instead, she stuck to the script. She blew it. And expand the powers of the Veep? What a frigthening thought!

Born, I completely agree. That was a moment (Biden tearing up) that required a human response. Say something, anything! Instead, she stuck to a rehearsed rebuttal about what a maverick John McCain is.

I thought Biden was superb last night. I've never been more impressed with him. He was the clear winner from start to finish; a real mensch of a guy who deserves to be v.p. and even president. He's the one who has changed my mind the most about how amazingly capable he is on so many levels. Palin, on the other hand, made me cringe the entire time. She's cold and smug and arrogant and ignorant and on some sort of mission that scares me to death. She's power hungry and that came across last night. Her sincerity is fake, her folkiness over-rehearsed, her lack of humility appalling.
