I've never been a big fan of bottled salad dressings but this one, friends and garlic lovers, has won me over.
My mother ruined me for bottled dressings when I was a youth. She made her own vinaigrettes and creamy dressings (remember Green Goddess?) and I do the same today. I love to experiment with vinaigrettes, adding gourmet mustards and citrus to change things up at dinnertime.
Ironically enough, it was Mom who turned me on to Garlic Expressions, which can be found, in my neck of the woods, at selected HyVee stores and here on the company Web site. (I've been known to order this stuff by the case.) Ask your local grocer if they carry it and, if so, look for the display next to the bakery, as it's sometimes marketed as a dipping oil.
I never tire of Garlic Expressions on salads or as a marinade (pork tendies, chicken, salmon - you name it). Last night, I tossed it on roasted new potatoes for a potato salad recipe I've made up. Delicious!
That's my recommendation for the weekend. Oh, and it tastes fabulous on garden tomatoes, mozarella cheese and basil!
But, believe me, you REALLY have to be a fan of garlic to enjoy this dressing. Its flavor is not for the faint of heart.

Thanks, I'll have to look for it. I love garlic. Lately I've been making my own Italian dressing because it's so much better than anything bottled that I've tried. But it would be nice to have a dressing ready made for those hectic times.
