A list of 20 potentially problematic drugs have been released by the FDA. Now's a good time to check your medicine cabinet...and your parents' meds, while you're at it.
This story from the Associated Press says:
The government on Friday began posting a list of prescription drugs under investigation for potential safety problems in an effort to better inform doctors and patients.
The first list is a bare-bones compilation naming 20 medications and the potential issue for each. It provides no indication of how widespread or serious the problems might be, leading some consumer advocates to question its usefulness, and prompting industry worries that skittish patients might stop taking a useful medication if they see it listed.
It also provides a chart showing the drug (or active ingredient) and it's specific risk factor or safety issue. There are some familiar looking names on that list. It's worth a look, and a call to the folks.

Did you notice that's the Jan-March 2008 list? What about April-June? What about a running list? The FDA doesn't seem to feel a great deal of urgency.

I did notice that, Suzy, and I'll dig a bit more to see when the 2nd quarter report might come out, now that we're well into the 3rd.
