It used to drive me crazy to see Christmas merchandise in the stores before Halloween. Not this year. Holiday cheer? I say, bring it on, baby. We need it and we need it now!
This piece in the New York Times points to the flurry of holiday marketing happening before autumn leaves even hit the ground. Can you blame retailers for wanting to make hay while the sun's still shining? I can't.
Still, I'm sure there will be others who find the trend distasteful. To them, I say take a look at Angela Lansbury singing her classic tune from "Mame". Two bucks says you'll be dragging your holiday decorations out of the basement before she is through.

Cathy, you are so right. The invincible Angela with her animated rendition of "We Need a Little Christmas" is truly uplifting!!
