Bio
I live in the best place in the world: my dream-come-true-place. I immigrated to southern Europe and live on an island at the edge of the Aegean Sea. I grew up in the rural middle west of the States, but since the place I remember doesn’t exist anymore I decided to try living next to water instead of living bound by land.
I enjoy conversations about mythology, books, movies and politics. I love sharing stories about my two daughters and the interesting aspects of mothering and marriage which I never, ever anticipated!
I enjoy sewing and crocheting. I’m very bored with housework and can only get started by listening to my favorite radio program from the University of North Carolina (WUNC), The Story with Dick Gordon. His interviews give me lots of food for thought and keep me motivated to listen patiently to people because their stories so often contain a gem of insight I wouldn’t want to miss.
One summer day my husband surprised me when he came home from work and offered me a package, “Anyone want some granita-to-go?” Farm girl that I am, I had never thought of such a thing . . . . freshly made strawberry granita-to-go! Life is good next to the sea!
