And it's oh, so easy to make. Another dish I like to make is roasted garlic. Take the whole bulb, wrap it in foil with a touch of olive oil and cook it for an hour or so at a very low heat. Squeeze the cloves onto crackers with a slice of brie. Simple and decadent!
Love the idea of upgrading - love it! Especially when it comes to enjoying good wine and decadent food.
I hit a milestone birthday just a few days ago and I've resolved to enjoy my life much more, whatever it is I choose to do.
As for wines, my new favorites are Chilean red wines but I think I'm reacting to something in them - the sulphates maybe? My eyes go very, very bloodshot - an allergy pill helps, but it's a drag that I find something I love and can't have it.
Any advice for someone who adores red wine to switch to, gasp, white?
Great post. I get up most days to exercise at 5:00 - it's the only time of day I can actually make time for it. And I don't mind that I carve those hours out for just me.
But this year I've decided to make fitness more fun.
This fitness program is only offered in Chicago and Toronto, but it does sound like fun!

These suggestions sound absolutely divine. I love resorts that still do high tea. It feels like a sinfully decadent way to while away the hours.
St. Anne's Spa in Ontario, Canada also does high tea:

They also have very strict no cellphones policy and do their very best to make sure you're pampered and spoiled to your heart's content.
Enjoy!

I know there are times when we have to use spices, but nothing replaces fresh.
My mother in law uses blended spices, but so many of them have a salt content that's out of this world.
My favorite savory dish that's simple to make and requires no spices is salsa: http://www.gogirlfriend.com/reviews/sals...
