As nuts as the 'scrapbook' idea sounds I'm actually encouraged knowing a husband might take the time to notice his wife this much. I would find it amazing if my husband ever put a photo in an album much less make a scrapbook. Maybe if they made a scrapbook of thier marriage in midlife if would be more fun for them both and much safer for him.
Flowers and chocolate are always welcome but a ready hug, backrub, offer to cook dinner, weed the garden or just kind words can go even futher.
How about packing her own personal cooler with some ice and water for her to keep by her bedside along with a nice reading light and few good novels as well. But be prepared to acknowlege that sometimes she is going to feel to miserable to enjoy his kind gestures. Any kindness he extends now might ensure that she'll treat him better when he is a crotchety old man.

There are few movies that I can actually recall where and when I saw them for the first time. "Love Story" and "Gone With The Wind" would count among that number.
My sister Debbie and I were visiting my Aunt Brenda in Atlanta GA, which was a long way from our home in Milwaukee. I was twelve and she was ten and we were both extremely excited when my aunt asked if we would like to see "Love Story" at the theatre. We were also a little worried because we knew that our mom wouldn't have allowed us to see this 'adult' movie if we had been at home but we weren't about to tell my aunt this.
Debbie and I sat spellbound during the movie totally enamored by the actors and caught up in the story. We come from a long line of cryers in our family so my Aunt was prepared with a purse stuffed with kleenex when we all started the sobbing.
My uncle who was also with us, just looked at us all like we were a little crazy, he just didn't get it. My aunt divorced him later that year but I don't think his reaction to the movie was the main reason (just kidding).
My sister and I had quite an adventure that summer spending so many weeks away from home for the first time and even spent four days in Washington D.C. on the way back to Wisconsin but the most memorable part of that time was seeing "Love Story" for the first time.

I'm a lifetime chocohollic and wouldn't think that life was worth living (well at least it would be far less fun) if somehow chocolate ceased to exist.
However I'm struggling with extra weight. I used to be able lose weight easily but this middle age metabolism is as slow as workers at the DMV. So I joined a group and found some fellow chocoholics who shared these two simple recepies with me.
Brownies
One brownie mix (nothing fancy even gereric is ok)
One can of black beans.
Ok don't freak out and stop reading here, it'll be good I promise.
Puree the black beans, liquid and all in a blender.
Pour the puree into the bowl with the brownie mix.
Mix until moistened and bake according to package directions.
These brownies are not only delicous and passed the taste test with my pickiest child but they are more choclately than most and have protien and fiber in each serving.
This other one is an oldy but goodie.
One package of any type cake mix
One can of any type diet soda.
Take two sips from the diet soda (come on you were thirsty anyway) and pour the rest in the bowl with the cake mix.
Mix according to package instructions and bake accordingly as well.
Both recipes leave out the eggs, oil and any other ingredient except the black beans and diet soda.
I've made chocolate cake with diet coke
Red Velvet cake with diet cherry and yellow cake with sprite.

I'm not sure if I had moles or voles in my vegetable garden. They usually moved too fast for me to see them. What ever they were they also seemed to like to snack on my tomatoes, baby squash and cantelopes. I have a fenced garden so it must be something that is coming up from the ground.
If they would just keep to the lawn I'd be quite happy.
My aunt Brenda from Georgia said that a good repellant is castor oil beans so she sent me some up (we live in Wisconson) and I opened them and spread them through the garden in fall. We'll see in spring if they did any good.

I teach several water classes at our local YMCA and we have women of all ages from twenties to 90 in our classes. We have so much fun and always play great music (not the pounding stuff many aroebics classes play). We share tips on everything from where to buy a suit (the cholrine is tough on suits) to making brownies with pureed black beans (great low fat higher fiber and still tastes like a brownie.
I also attend a dance class called NIA which also welcomes woman of all ages and sizes and is so much fun I don't even mind the sweating. Most people wear yoga type clothes in the class but some like me where short or capris and a t-shirt.
Find something FUN so that you are more inclined to stick with it and either find a friend to go with or be open to making new friends (a great side benefit of all these classes)
