I am "roughing it" because I tried HRT and had the taste of blood in my mouth, ewwwwwwww! I recently tried prometrium and Estratest and stopped taking it because it didn't seem to make much of a difference for me. I try to take a woman's multivitamin, vitamin C,calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc & time-released B-12. It seems to help me better than any HRT I've tried before. I am not a pill popper, I prefer a natural approach to most health issues. My hot flashes aren't that bad and they seem to be at their worst when I go to bed at night. Well, I hope this helps you out on your quest for knowledge about mentlepause!
I believe we used to be called "tomboys"? I like using power tools, cooking and sewing. I don't believe that cursing is a prerequisite for anything. I also have been told that I shop "like a man" because I get what I need and don't lollygag around the store. My best friend is a blonde and she can fix almost anything, but we also enjoy being women. Tomboys of the world, unite! If you've ever sewed, its not for wimps! You get picked by pins and needles and sometimes it makes you bleed, HAH!~ Tomboys are not afraid to tackle almost any kind of job. I repair furniture, I have my own toolbench in the garage! I used to work on vehicles, until they got computerized parts in them. The 1 thing I do not like to work on, is anything electrical, except my sewing machines. I recently helped my hubby install a new fan motor in a refridgerator, does that make me qualify for this new club?
How does Alaska sound to you? He-he-he! Thanks for letting us know where we can buy the cuddle duds. My girlfriend and I are going to Topeka later today,so I will check it out. Have a great day!!!
If my hubby dared to do a scrapbook, I would probably burn the thing! Ever see the movie, "Fried Green Tomatoes" with Cathy Bates? If not, rent it, watch it and it should give you an idea about menopause,or as I like to call it "mentlepause"! HAH! I really hope that you are NOT serious about that scrapbook! If I were your wife, I would go out and buy stuff to make a scrapbook of all the things you've done, that weren't so bright! That way, she'd have equal ammo about you and I hope she reads this! Let the games begin! HAH!~
Dear Karen, What can I do about my libido? I used to be a hot mama and now I'm more like a cold fish. :o( I tried to discuss this with my doctor and he handed me a free sample of Viagra, which I never took any of because it scared me. There must be something that would bring back that old desire in me. I am getting kinda desperate thinking my hubby will look elsewhere if he doesn't get any from me. He made the comment,"I can see why some husbands leave their wives during menopause." He reassures me that he never would leave me or have an affair, but I am concerned. I live in between Lawrence and Topeka,KS and I hope that you can help me with this issue! Thanks!
I love to sew, but so far, have re-covered my older son's quilt. I also need to do the same to my younger son's quilt, it's tattered,I sewed up the torn parts, so I can re-cover it with Star Wars fabric on both sides, it will be reversible! I am making another quilt for my sister's 50th birthday in September, but would hate to make them and sell them, it's so much time! Currently I am sewing American Girl doll clothes that I hope to sell at a crafts show in May. I'm not sure there are very many women out there making memory quilts, my mom made a photo quilt for my older brother, lotsa time!
That was just all too familiar, made me laugh a lot though! :o) What are Cuddle Duds and where can I buy them? I live between North Topeka and Lawrence,Kansas, I used to live in Lawrence,KS for 20 years before my second marriage and subsequent move. Thanks! Love & Peace!
Anyone else out there who loves to sew? I find it relaxing and therapeutic, is that weird or what? LOL If you have anything you'd like to discuss, concerning sewing, feel free to ask me! I wished there was a place to chat about sewing, does anyone out there know if there is? Please let me know asap! Thanks!
Do you have either Hobby Lobby or Micheal's Crafts stores in your area? I have seen these iron-on deisgns to hand embroider at Hancock fabrics too. Let me know if you can find some, okay? I am a sewing addict, mostly machine sewing lately, but have done hand embroidery and needlepoint. I hope you find some transfers you like! Peace & Love To You! :o)
