I've learned the hard way about DOM. It's very sneaky. I say pay close attention to what makes you the most sore and ask Your Personal Trainer to modify a bit. I've worked out with trainers and they will push you so hard... sometimes it's not worth the stiff muscles. My advice: modify, modify and build up to it slowly.
Oh, I hate weighing myself, but I try to do it every day. I consider it behavior modification. The daily routine somehow makes it easier. It lessens the shock of once a week and teaches me what foods or portions I need to reconsider. So my vote is daily.
I think Oprah's weight issues are the only thing that make her at all relatable to the everyday woman. It makes her human, but it's an old story. I hope she gets it together so we don't have to hear about it, and doesn't do surgery or anything severe, which would send a horrible message. Yawn!
A birthday registry is, quite simply, the greatest idea ever in the history of womankind!!! Where do I sign up?!!!! Oh if just one year we boomer gals could get what we really want on our b'days.. how fantastic would that be? I mean seriously! Do we really need another candle? More body wash we'd rather buy ourselves? More CDs we don't want? Another ill-fitting, tagless sweater we can't return? No, we do not.
So sad to think about... I was at work at a newspaper based in Century City. I was 22. We were all so devastated, people were walking around stunned. That night, hundreds gathered by the giant Christmas tree in the plaza (between the Twin Towers) and held a candlelight vigil and sang Beatles songs. I will never forget it.
Please update on the traveling turkey escapade. How did it go? Was there spillage? Was there deliciousness? My day was memorable. The turkeys were great. No accidents in the kitchen, no arguments, no wine got spilled. And yet, there was plenty drama in the house when hubby's aunt fell and sprained her back. No lawsuit pending, as far as we know...
I'm thankful for caffeine and good health, the acceptance and love of my family and friends; leftovers with cranberry sauce, doggy snuggles, boomergirl.com and my darling kins... with love, lil k
