"I am not, nor have I ever been, a member of Reunion.com..."

Note: Since this writing, the folks at Reunion.com or Google removed the link that is the subject of my post. Thank you.

Unbeknownst to me, the folks at Reunion.com decided to take it upon themselves to spend their time, wits and collective energy to ferret out a few of my vital statistics (yawn)and compile a "member profile" of me. But they didn't stop there. Oh no. That wasn't enough. They went the extra mile and set up a free "account" AND created a link that appears on Google which includes my name, age, the city and state where I live, and that represents me as a "member" of their website then posted it on the Web.

Having never heard of Reunion.com, or joined Reunion.com, I believe it is reasonable to object to being categorized as a "member" of a website I never joined. It is not accurate to categorize me as a "member" of a website I never joined, and it should not be posted on the Web as such. I have requested removal of the aforementioned information which was created through no fault of my own, and it is still in Google's index.

I have been shuffled back and forth between Google and Reunion.com since each party insists it is up to the other party to take action. Since it originated with Reunion.com, it seems reasonable to conclude that it is within their power to delete the listing entirely.

What would you do if this happened to you or your children?
