Jackson Browne is hopping mad and suing John McCain for copyright infringement. It seems that Jackson’s song “Runnin’ on Empty” has turned up in a McCain campaign ad, which is blasting Barrack Obama.

Rock and Roll BoomerGirls

August 4, 2008

The other night while I was folding clothes and flipping through the channels, I came across “Best Videos of the ‘80’s” on VH1. I know I’ve seen these shows before, but I decided to watch anyway. Always love rehearing the old faves.

July 18, 2008

Finally, a Beatles Museum is coming to the US. Amazingly, there is only one Beatles museum that exists on the planet and it’s in Liverpool.

Tribute Bands

July 7, 2008

When asked by Cathy (editor of BoomerGirl) a few months ago, how I felt about doing a piece on Tribute Bands, I told her I really didn’t have an opinion on them. I really didn’t pay that much attention to them.

New Music…

September 27, 2007

Because of the corporate takeover in music, Joni Mitchell has been in a holding pattern for 10 years, ...

Rock 'n' roll memoirs

September 14, 2007

I have always loved reading autobiographies, but I especially enjoy reading them by rock musicians. I just finished reading a fantastic book by Andy Summers, guitar player for the Police, called "One Train Later." I always thought Sting was the intellect in that group since he was ...

Boomers love guitars …

August 30, 2007

I read that statement recently in a music industry newsletter I subscribe to. It was talking about what kind of music still turns us baby boomers on. They suggested, when all is said and done, boomers love guitars. I had to agree. Probably one of my favorite songs of all-time, ...

Synchronizing the Globe

August 17, 2007

I decided this week I wanted to write about Global Synchronization Events since the 38th anniversary of Woodstock is Aug. 15-17. The term Global Synchronization Event was coined by Jose Arguelles, philosopher and creator of the 1987 Harmonic Convergence. In essence, it means an event that happens on the planet ...
